TessRemySchumacherCelloFYC.com

I built this website for the cellist Dr. Tess Remy-Schumacher to publicize her album "Remembrance & Renewal" for GRAMMY® consideration in 2024. I used HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript for this project.

KaDeeBramlett.com

I built the website you're looking at right now! I wanted a single place online to document and share the wide variety of work I've done over the years, and here it is! I used HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and a touch of JavaScript for this project.

VitaSpree - a unique food tracking app

This is an early web version of VitaSpree , an app I’m creating that encourages people to be healthier by eating more brightly-colored fruits and vegetables. I practiced incorporating some JavaScript on my own for the first time on this website. There’s no backend on it right now, and the finished product will likely look very different when I finish it someday.

Here's a product landing page for the mobile version of my VitaSpree app. I used a Bootstrap template for this page. I also wrote all the copy and took some of the food photographs myself.

Curated Wisdom - a lifestyle website

The first "big" web project I built after completing the web dev certification was Curated Wisdom , a lifestyle website. This project was built with HTML and CSS, and it gave me a chance to practice my new skills while creating web content that was interesting to me. It's a dormant project right now, but I'm still very proud of the work I did on it.

Certification Projects

freeCodeCamp - Responsive Web Development

During the most intense isolation phase of the COVID pandemic I earned the Responsive Web Development Certification on freeCodeCamp.org

To earn the certificate, I built several projects to pass automated test suites. I built a Portfolio Page , Survey Form , a Tribute Page , a Technical Documentation Page , and a Product Landing Page .

These projects have a lot of sentimental value for me now, as I remember how excited I was to learn and implement my new-found web development knowledge for the first time.

Content Writing

Journalism - The Oklahoma Gazette

Over the course of two years, I worked as a contract writer for the bi-weekly independent newspaper the Oklahoma Gazette.

I wrote articles in a number of categories: culture, food, community, music, arts, psychology/behavior, disaster preparedness, politics, diversity, and local events.

Copywriting - Amphibious Zoo

I never dreamed I'd get a gig that combined my musical background with my love of writing, but it happened!

I was asked to write descriptions for music tracks that are listed in a commercial music catalog. This catalog is where music supervisors on movies, TV, and commercials choose the music that will be included in sountracks.

My descriptions are the "sales pitch" to the music supervisors to convince them to click the track sample and potentially buy the music.

I wrote track descriptions for a music producer who lists his work in the Amphibious Zoo catalog, a commercial soundtrack company.

Read my track descriptions for Against the Clock, Last One Standing, and Swagger Trap - Volume 2. (Note: the descriptions do not appear on mobile. Desktop required.)

Video Storytelling

RV Life - Tioga Party

In 2023, my spouse and I had the privilege of living our dream of traveling long-term in a small RV with our two dogs, Max and Winky.

A few months into our journey I began documenting our daily life and sharing the magnificent places we got to see along the way.

I discovered that I love video storytelling as a creative outlet, and I'm grateful to have our memories preserved in video

Everyday Life

I often make short-form videos about everyday happenings in my life: beautiful hikes, fun outings, funny ideas, etc.

I post these brief glimpses into my personal life on my personal Instagram account.

Visual Art

KMB Painted Glass

After a career as a classical musician and music educator, I discovered my love for artistic expression in visual art.

One of my priorities is to make beautiful things while minimizing the amount of waste in the process, so I make art out of reclaimed and upcycled objects.

The majority of my work is translucent paintings on glass in upcycled picture frames, most of which I find at thrift stores.

Music

Classical Music: Oboe

The majority of my music projects have been Classical in nature and on the oboe or English horn.

I performed in many, many concerts and studio recordings, but I'll share a small selection here that can be easily accessed online.

  • Solo Performance with Orchestra SKIP TO 15:56: Albinoni's Concerto for Oboe and Strings Op.9, no. 2 | 2019

  • Studio Recording: Michael Daugherty's Firecracker - Solo Oboe & Chamber Ensemble | 2012

  • Chamber Music Performance SKIP TO 17:01: Faculty Artist Concert - Zephyr Wind Quintet and Sugar Fish Reed Trio perform with Pianist David Forbat | 2018

  • Chamber Music Performance SKIP TO 36:31, 1:07:20, or 1:24:50: Faculty Artist Concert - Mish Mash Program with Clarinetist Dr. Dawn Marie Lindblade-Evans | 2021

  • Dr. Hautboi is my oboist persona on Instagram. Hautbois (pronounced 'oh-bwah') is the French term for oboe. On this profile you'll find short videos of me playing, making reeds, and living the oboist's life.

Original Music: Quantum Calm

In 2009, after I finished my Master of Music degree, I felt the need to be musically creative outside of the contsraints of Classical music. So, I started a project I named Quantum Calm.

I have composed and arranged all the music for this project.

This project started as a New Age duo with a guitarist and me playing oboe, piano, singing bowls, Native flutes, bells, etc.

We performed live for meditation groups, yoga classes, art shows, bookstores, and other similar settings.

The project later morphed into a wider range of timbres and textures produced with electronic sounds and digital techniques.

These are the albums that have been released under the Quantum Calm project:

Educational Content

I love learning, and I love teaching. In addition to years of teaching in classrooms, I made these educational videos as an expression of my enthusiasm for knowledge and my joy in sharing it.
